“Peace Fund for a Better Future” (Peace Fund) is a non-entrepreneurial (non-commercial) legal entity founded in 2019.
Building upon the principles of the peace initiative “A Step to a Better Future,” the goal of the Peace Fund is to empower the conflict-affected populations living on both sides of the dividing lines and improve their socio-economic conditions by supporting economic ties and business projects that will facilitate dialogue, cooperation, and restore trust between the communities, as well as serve the foremost aim of peaceful conflict resolution and peace building.
To achieve this goal, the Peace Fund will identify and finance the best business projects and initiatives; for this purpose, the Fund will attract funding from international donors, private and public organizations, as well as donations from any interested persons.
The Peace Fund’s activities are guided by the principles of transparency, legality, impartiality, prohibition of all forms of discrimination, gender equality, equal access to grants, and sensitivity to the population affected by the conflict.
The founders of the Peace Fund are the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality, the JSC Partnership Fund and the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
